To us empowerment means substantive and wide-spread job creation
for Historically Disadvantaged South Africans (H.D.S.A.s). We will
never resort to window dressing or pay lip service to employment
equity.
The main objectives of our Black Economic Empowerment policy relate to the
following goals:
 |
 |
| · |
to address the racial imbalances existing in our company
by actively recruiting H.D.S.A. persons according to the economically
active demographic make-up of the regions where we have branches; |
| · |
to do so in a systematic and methodical manner,
ensuring that we place the long term viability of the company foremost; |
| · |
to continue to provide educational assistance to H.D.S.A. employees
of Berco Express so that the same people might progress within the
company; |
| · |
that we continue to give high priority to promoting
H.D.S.A. employees from within Berco Express; |
| · |
that we continue to actively seek out suppliers, particularly Small,
Medium and Micro Enterprises, who are engaged in genuine, non-token
and credible Black Economic Empowerment; |
| · |
that we actively seek to target our spend at companies
such as those indicated above; |
When doing business with Berco Express, you know youre dealing
with a company that is actively addressing Black Economic Empowerment,
whilst ensuring that you will always receive a world-class service.
